We are Peter and Cheryl van Dorp, owners/operators of Pete’s Skips. We are a Canterbury based family business who has been servicing the Christchurch and surrounding areas with rubbish removal services for the past 10 years. We will provide friendly service, great rates and can supply a number of skips ranging is size between 2 and 7 cubic metres for any variety of rubbish you need removed. We provide skips for:

About Us

WE STARTED OUR SKIP COMPANY BECAUSE, ABOUT 10 YEARS AGO WHEN WE NEEDED A SKIP WE RANG AROUND THE BIG SKIP BIN COMPANY’S AND FOUND THAT TO MOST OF THEM WE WERE JUST A NUMBER.

THEY WERE PRETTY INFLEXIBLE IN WHERE AND WHEN WE COULD HAVE OUR SKIP BIN.

As we had a small driveway we  couldn’t get it our skip  very close to our rubbish as they were all using  big gantry trucks that need at least 3 metres of drive width. So we ended up carting all our rubbish from the back of our property to where they could put the skip bin.

We thought there must be a better way to get a skip bin delivered, so we did some research into the waste  industry and came up with a small hook truck that unloads skips straight off the back of truck instead of using chains and lifting up and over the truck. This means that we can have  shorter wheelbase trucks that can put your skip bin almost anywhere you can get an average sized car (within  reason).

We also didn’t like the idea that when you order your skip bin you don’t talk to the person that actually will deliver your skip bin, so we try to have the person that answers your phone call to be  the one who will deliver your skip bin. If not, they are in very close contact with the driver, so your delivery instructions get through. Our trucks only need a driveway width of 2.3 metres and a height of 3 metres, so we can place your skip bin onto back sections, front sections, around the back of your house, under your carport or even in your garage.

We will do our best to place your skip bin in the most convenient place for you. Our skip sizes, from 2 cube to 7 cube will give you a a good choice of skip bin size that you might need for any job you might have. You can use our 2 cube hardfill skip bin for bricks, concrete, dirt, tiles, rocks, pavers, soil, stones, pebbles, gravel, clay, shingle, dirt. You can use a general rubbish skip 2 cube to 7 cube for general house hold clean up rubbish.

eg old clothes, boxes, wood, plastic, stoves, fridges, heaters, couches, sofas, chairs, carpet, underlay, tables, pots. pans, jugs,p aper, blinds, glass, wallpaper, showers, wcs, grass, weeds, white ware, cupboards, kitchen units, old laptops, we also have green waste skip bins for all you garden jobs eg. rose pruning, lawn grass, weeds, tree trimming, tree branches, tree stumps.

We only use refuse stations that have a recycle  policy as we must all do our bit to keep the planet we live on clean so we recycle when we can. When you put any metal or a fridge etc in your skip bin it will be removed for recycling at the refuse station. That way you can do your bit for our environment.
